Personalized Allergy & Asthma Treatment Plans

Allergy and asthma care isn’t one-size-fits-all. After evaluation and testing, we build a plan based on your triggers, symptom pattern, and goals, whether that means reducing day-to-day symptoms, preventing flare-ups, or decreasing reliance on frequent rescue medications. Treatment may include immunotherapy, advanced biologic options, and practical guidance for long-term control.

When to Consider Allergy Shots or Biologic Therapy

You may be a good candidate for advanced treatment options if you:

  • Have persistent symptoms despite consistent medical therapy
  • Experience frequent asthma flare-ups or need repeated oral steroids
  • Struggle with chronic hives, eczema, or nasal polyps
  • Want longer-term symptom control for environmental/seasonal allergies
  • Have complex allergic disease (e.g., allergic + eosinophilic inflammation patterns)

Biologic Therapy

Biologics Offered (not limited to):

  • Xolair – Asthma, hives, nasal polyps

  • Dupixent – Eczema, asthma, nasal polyps, eosinophilic esophagitis

  • Fasenra – Eosinophilic asthma

  • Nucala – Eosinophilic asthma, nasal polyps, EGPA

  • Tezspire – Severe asthma (broad eligibility)

Subcutaneous Immunotherapy (SCIT)

Subcutaneous immunotherapy (allergy shots) is a long-established approach for treating environmental and seasonal allergies by gradually increasing exposure to specific allergens in a controlled way. For many patients, SCIT can:

  • Support long-term improvement in allergy symptoms
  • Reduce sensitivity to key triggers (like pollen, dust mites, or pet dander)
  • Help decrease reliance on daily allergy medications over time

What to expect: SCIT typically includes a build-up phase with more frequent injections, followed by a maintenance phase. Your allergist will determine whether SCIT fits your allergy profile and schedule.

Biologic Therapy for Moderate-to-Severe Allergic Disease

Biologics are targeted medications used for certain inflammatory and allergic conditions, especially when symptoms are ongoing despite standard therapy. These options can play a role in conditions like asthma, chronic hives, eczema, nasal polyps, and other specialized diagnoses.

Because biologics are condition- and history-specific, your clinician will review factors like symptom severity, prior treatments, lab markers (when relevant), and insurance criteria to determine the best option.

    Allergy Treatment FAQs

Are biologics the same as steroids?

No. Biologics are targeted therapies designed to act on specific immune pathways. Your clinician will discuss how they differ from inhaled or oral steroids.

How do you choose between biologics?

Choice depends on diagnosis, symptom pattern (e.g., asthma + nasal polyps), past treatment response, and clinical markers when applicable.

Can I do allergy shots and biologics?

In some cases, yes. Your allergist will decide what’s appropriate based on safety, your condition, and treatment goals.

How quickly will I notice results?

Timelines vary by condition and therapy. We’ll set realistic expectations and monitor progress over time.
